REQUIRES MACHINE WORK
IE Tall Boy Main Caps require machine work for installation by a certified machine shop. The main caps sit taller than the block and will require to be machined down to fit your installed girdle plate, this ensures the main caps are an exact fit to your individual block and girdle plate. All IE Billet Main Caps also require an align bore and hone, be sure to check that your machine shop can perform all the required machine work on the mains before ordering. The main caps will need to be line bored and honed using the main bolts or studs of your choice, be sure to supply your machine shop with this hardware as well for proper fitment. Main journal housing bore size: 2.3228″-2.3236″.
REQUIRED HARDWARE
IE Tall Boy Billet Main Caps are designed for use with a girdle plate and sit taller than an OE main cap. Because of this, stock sized main cap bolts or studs are not tall enough and will not fit. IE has worked with ARP to manufacture correct length main stud kits for installation of IE Tall Boy main caps on select engines.

Requires OEM thrust washers Part Number 06A105637A only.
Fits pre-2006 VW 2.0L, 1.8T, G60, 16V, and 8V 4 cylinder engines. Does not fit late 2006+ EA888 Gen1/2/3 timing chain engines.
