Seal the input shaft in the assigned manual gearbox
02M-311-113-A is the Genuine VW/Audi radial oil seal for the input shaft of the specified manual transmissions. It seals around the shaft where it passes through the original transmission housing.
An input-shaft seal leak can allow gearbox oil into the bellhousing area. Correct diagnosis is necessary because engine oil, gearbox oil and clutch hydraulic fluid can reach nearby areas from different sources.

One seal is supplied. Transmission, input shaft, clutch, guide sleeve, fluid and installation tools are separate. The nominal seal dimensions describe the component and are not packaged shipping dimensions.
Common reasons to replace
- Diagnosis confirms gearbox-oil leakage at the input-shaft seal.
- The original sealing lip is damaged.
- The seal is disturbed during an approved gearbox repair.
- The original seal fails the prescribed inspection.
Identify the leaking fluid and inspect the shaft sealing surface, bearing support and bellhousing. Excess shaft movement or a damaged shaft surface must be corrected. A new seal alone cannot repair a worn bearing or contaminated clutch.

The table lists original six-speed manual applications. Confirm the gearbox identification and complete seal number. Four-wheel-drive equipment does not change the need to identify the exact manual gearbox.

Installation guidance
Follow the transmission-specific removal and installation procedure. Protect the sealing lip, use the correct driver and install the seal to the prescribed orientation and depth. Apply only the lubrication required by the procedure and keep the clutch friction surfaces clean.
Restore the gearbox oil using the specified fluid and fill procedure. Complete the required clutch, gear-selection and leak checks after reassembly.
