OVERVIEW
The 06E-121-119-K Genuine VW/Audi outer coolant pipe seal seals the pipe joint to help keep coolant inside the engine cooling circuit. A sound seal allows the joint to contain coolant under normal operating pressure. This small part is especially useful to have ready when a matching coolant pipe is removed during cooling-system service.

Common reasons to replace
Replace a removed seal, a damaged sealing profile, or a seal at a confirmed leaking pipe joint. Cracking, flattening or damage during removal can prevent the connection from sealing correctly. Fresh coolant wetness or dried residue around the joint can help identify the area to inspect, but residue alone does not establish which component failed.
Confirm the leak source before ordering. A cracked pipe, a damaged mating surface or coolant running down from a nearby component can produce similar evidence. Replacing the seal alone will not correct a damaged pipe or housing.
Service notes
Let the cooling system cool and follow the vehicle-specific procedure for draining and relieving pressure. Clean the mating surfaces without damaging them, inspect the pipe and seat, and avoid pinching or twisting the new seal during assembly. Follow the specified installation and coolant filling procedure, then check the repaired connection for leakage.
