OVERVIEW
Genuine VW/Audi engine wiring harness, part number 06J-972-619-CL. This application-specific wiring set connects the engine's electrical components to the vehicle's engine-control wiring interface. Its branched layout, connector housings and mounting retainers follow the routing required by the specified engine and equipment configuration.
Technical details
- Original part number: 06J-972-619-CL / 06J972619CL.
- Engine wiring set with the wrapped branches, connector housings, corrugated protection and retainers shown in the original product photos.
- Fitment depends on the engine code, emissions package, transmission and production cutoff—not the vehicle's model name alone.
- The catalog identifies SULEV emissions equipment under PR code 0GT and specific automatic-transmission applications.
- Supplied as the wiring harness shown. The engine control module, sensors, actuators, ignition coils and vehicle body harness are not included.
- Match the full suffix CL; a harness with the same numeric prefix and a different suffix is not automatically interchangeable.
Common reasons to replace
Replace the harness when inspection confirms extensive wire damage, deteriorated insulation, heat-damaged branches, broken connector housings or terminals that cannot be restored using the approved repair method. Repeated splices, chafing against brackets or damage caused during previous engine work can also make a complete harness replacement appropriate.
Intermittent engine faults, communication faults or sensor circuit codes require electrical diagnosis before ordering. A failed sensor, poor ground, damaged body-side connector or control-module fault can produce similar symptoms. A new engine harness will not correct a fault outside the wiring set being replaced.
Installation and service notes
Follow the applicable battery-isolation and engine-access procedure. Document each connection and routing point before removal. Release connector locks correctly, inspect both mating terminals and repair any damaged vehicle-side connector separately.
Install the harness along the original path and engage its retainers without stretching branches or forcing connectors. Keep wiring clear of hot exhaust components, belt drives, sharp edges and moving linkages. Fully seat primary and secondary connector locks and reinstall the prescribed protection.
After reassembly, check electrical supply and grounds and perform the required diagnostic checks. Confirm that each disturbed engine function operates correctly. This is a wiring-set replacement; any additional component replacement or programming requirement must be determined from the repair being performed.
Fitment
| Vehicle | Model years | Engine | Body and transmission | Restrictions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Volkswagen CC | 2013–2017 | 2.0L turbo gasoline, CBFA / SULEV equipment | Front-wheel-drive sedan; Automatic; match the original harness and transmission configuration. | Catalog production cutoff: after June 4, 2012. Emissions PR 0GT and 2.0L engine equipment must match. Not for the 3.6L VR6 or a different emissions harness. |
| Volkswagen Eos | 2013–2016 | 2.0L turbo gasoline, CBFA | Convertible; Automatic. | Catalog production cutoff: after June 5, 2012. Match emissions equipment, all connector assignments and original harness number; not a manual-transmission harness. |
Confirm the original harness number, engine code, emissions PR code, transmission and build date before ordering.
