OVERVIEW
Genuine VW/Audi automatic transmission oil pan gasket, part number 09G-321-370. This formed perimeter seal fits between the matching automatic-transmission oil sump and the transmission housing. It is a service part for the conventional six-speed automatic arrangement shown in the fitment table, where the pan is removed for access to the strainer and hydraulic valve body.
Technical details
- Original part number: 09G-321-370 / 09G321370.
- Application: transmission oil pan-to-housing joint; one gasket per matching pan.
- Contoured sealing profile with eight reinforced fastener openings, visible in the product photo.
- Supplied as one gasket. Transmission pan, fluid, filter/strainer, bolts and separate service seals are not included.
Common reasons to replace
A new gasket is appropriate when the pan is removed for transmission service, when the existing seal is cut or distorted, or when diagnosis confirms fluid seepage at the pan-to-case joint. Repeated heat cycles and previous improper installation can leave an old gasket compressed, pinched or unable to seal evenly.
Fluid beneath the transmission does not identify the pan gasket by itself. Clean the area and establish the leak source before replacing parts: cooler connections, drain/fill seals, axle seals and fluid running down from above can produce similar evidence. A gasket replacement will not correct a warped pan, damaged sealing surface, internal transmission fault or incorrect fluid level.
Installation and service notes
Use the VIN-specific repair procedure for the installed gearbox. Inspect the pan flange and housing contact surface, remove old residue without gouging either surface, and keep debris out of the valve body and strainer. Position the gasket evenly and tighten the fasteners in the specified sequence to the specified torque; overtightening can distort the pan and damage the seal.
Use only the fluid specification and temperature-dependent filling procedure required for that transmission. Check for leaks after service. Do not assume that a six-speed DSG uses this gasket: DSG is a different transmission design. Match the pan shape, part number and gearbox identification before installation.

Confirm the VIN, transmission code and installed pan before ordering. Model name and engine displacement alone do not establish compatibility. DSG and manual transmissions are excluded.
