1H5-827-905 is the Genuine VW/Audi spring clip used at the assigned lift-support attachment. It engages the original support socket to keep the socket retained on its mounting stud.
A lift support can have different clips at its two ends. Correct clip shape and seating are necessary for retention, and a replacement must be matched to the support and mounting location rather than chosen from appearance alone.

Installation guidance
Securely support the hood or lid independently before disturbing a lift-support attachment. Follow the vehicle-specific clip and socket procedure. Position the retainer correctly and confirm full engagement; do not bend it to fit a different socket.
Check the socket's retention on the stud using the prescribed inspection. Only remove the independent support after both lift-support attachments are verified secure and the hood or lid operates normally.
