Renew the original crankcase ventilation hose
1J0-103-493-C is the Genuine VW/Audi crankcase vent hose for the specified naturally aspirated 2.0L Jetta engine. Its molded routing joins the original valve-cover ventilation connection to the intake-side ventilation path.
A split or hardened vent hose can leave the crankcase ventilation circuit leaking. The molded shape and connection sizes are specific to the original installation, so the correct complete part number matters when replacing the hose.

Inspect the adjoining ventilation components, valve-cover connection and retaining parts. A new hose cannot correct a damaged valve-cover outlet or a separate ventilation-valve fault.
