1J0-501-249-C is the Genuine VW/Audi dust cap for the specified rear hub and wheel-bearing assemblies. The cap closes the original hub opening over the attachment area.
An intact, correctly seated cap helps keep dirt and moisture away from the covered hub area. The cap must match the hub's seating diameter and profile; it is distinct from the decorative center cap fitted to the wheel.
