OVERVIEW
Renew the specified refrigerant line seal
4D0-260-749-B is the Genuine VW/Audi 7.6x2.5 O-ring for the specified air-conditioning refrigerant line joints. Correct seal geometry and condition help maintain a leak-tight connection when the original joint is assembled to the factory specification.
A/C systems contain several seals of different sizes. This individual ring belongs only in the connection that specifies its complete factory number; an O-ring that looks similar can seal incorrectly or become damaged during assembly.
Technical details
- Complete factory number: 4D0-260-749-B.
- Factory specification: 7.6 × 2.5 factory O-ring designation.
- Design: molded circular sealing ring for the specified A/C line connection.
- Quantity supplied: one individual O-ring.
One individual O-ring is supplied. Refrigerant lines, compressor, refrigerant, oil and other seals are separate. Confirm the original joint and complete seal number before ordering.
Common reasons to replace
- The original refrigerant joint is opened for an A/C repair.
- The seal is cut, flattened, hardened or otherwise damaged.
- A leak test identifies the specified O-ring joint as the leak source.
- The original correct seal is missing.
Inspect both mating surfaces, the seal groove and the refrigerant line for damage. A replacement O-ring cannot repair a cracked line, distorted flange or damaged sealing surface.
Vehicle fitment
Use only at the specified original refrigerant-line seal position. The fitment table identifies confirmed vehicle configurations and does not make this ring suitable for every A/C connection.

Installation guidance
Have the refrigerant recovered using the equipment and procedure specified for the vehicle before opening the circuit. Clean and inspect the joint, use the specified compatible assembly lubricant and install the seal without twisting or pinching it.
Tighten the connection to the applicable repair specification, then evacuate, leak-test and charge the system using the specified refrigerant and quantity.
