Genuine VW/Audi Headliner Retaining Clip
5G0-867-289-A is the genuine formed-metal retainer used at assigned headliner and roof-trim attachment points. Its shaped clamping and locating features engage the original mounting arrangement so the specified trim remains seated. One individual clip is supplied per purchased unit, as shown in the original archive photograph. This listing is not a complete headliner fastening set. The headliner, roof-opening trim, surrounding panels and other retainers are separate components.

Installation and headliner service guidance
Follow the factory headliner or roof-trim removal procedure. Support the trim and release the attachment points in the specified sequence using the correct tools, protecting nearby upholstery, wiring and roof components.
Inspect the receiving point and trim-side attachment. Install the correct clip in its original orientation and align the trim before seating it. Do not force a distorted retainer into place or use it to pull misaligned trim into position.
Restore all disturbed trim and wiring according to the service procedure, including the original routing and specified clearance around roof-mounted safety equipment. Verify that each attachment is fully seated and that any affected roof-opening trim operates and clears correctly.
This retainer restores the specified fastening point. It does not replace a damaged headliner, roof mechanism or surrounding trim panel.
