OVERVIEW
Genuine VW/Audi heater-control valve bracket, part number 5Q0-121-093-D. This formed mounting bracket supports the assigned coolant-control valve at its intended location. It retains the valve independently of the hose connections and helps keep the assembly and surrounding connections correctly positioned.
Technical details
- Original part number: 5Q0-121-093-D / 5Q0121093D.
- Bracket with mounting holes and two threaded mounting studs, as shown in the original photos.
- Supplied individually. Valve, nuts, hoses and other mounting hardware are separate.
- Correct bracket shape and stud layout must match the installed valve assembly.
- Some factory valve replacement instructions specify this bracket with an updated valve and separate nuts. Confirm the complete required parts list for the exact original valve.
Common reasons to replace
Replace a bent, cracked or corroded bracket, damaged mounting studs or a support that is missing after previous repairs. A loose bracket can allow the valve to move and place strain on hose and electrical connections.
Inspect the valve attachment, adjoining hoses and vehicle mounting points as well. Replacing the bracket will not repair an internally failed valve, a leaking hose or a damaged mounting point. Verify the original configuration before diagnosing a loose coolant-control assembly.
Installation and service notes
Work with the cooling system cold and support the valve while its bracket is removed. Match the new bracket to the factory mounting points and valve, then install the specified nuts and fasteners using the factory instructions for that assembly.
Keep hoses free of tension, kinks and rubbing, and route the electrical lead with sufficient clearance. If the coolant circuit is opened, follow the correct refill and bleeding procedure and check for leakage and secure mounting after service.
