OVERVIEW

Genuine VW/Audi blue 10-pin tail light connector housing

6R0-972-930-B is the original blue ten-position contact housing used at the assigned LED tail-lamp connection. It locates the correct electrical contacts and provides the specified contact-locking arrangement within the original wiring connector.

This listing supplies the bare housing. It does not include a wired pigtail, repair leads, electrical terminals or a tail lamp. Replacing a damaged housing can restore the connector's mechanical retention when the contacts and wiring are otherwise serviceable.

Technical details and supplied quantity

  • Manufacturer part number: 6R0-972-930-B; compact reference 6R0972930B.
  • Brand: Genuine VW/Audi.
  • Configuration: blue 10-pin contact housing with contact locking mechanism.
  • Confirmed use: assigned LED tail-lamp connection on the listed Audi configurations.
  • Quantity: one housing per purchase. Terminals, repair wires and lighting components are separate.

Ten positions do not make different connector housings interchangeable. Match the full part number, color/keying, locking features and original terminal layout. Related black or red housings and other revisions can serve different circuits or mating components.

Common reasons to replace

  • The original housing is cracked or broken during tail-lamp or harness service.
  • Contact-locking features are damaged and no longer retain the correct terminals.
  • The mating retention feature is damaged and the connector cannot remain properly seated.
  • Previous repairs have fitted an incorrect housing at the original blue ten-position connection.

Inspect the electrical contacts and wiring when diagnosing an intermittent lamp fault. Corroded terminals, damaged conductors or a faulty lamp require separate repair. A replacement housing will not correct an electrical problem simply by moving the same damaged contacts into it.

Vehicle fitment

Fitment applies only to the original tail-lamp connection assigned 6R0972930B. Verify the lamp revision, housing keying and circuit assignment before ordering. Vehicles with changed lamps or modified harnesses require separate connector verification.

Installation and service guidance

Follow the factory wiring-repair and tail-lamp service procedures. Isolate the applicable electrical supply as prescribed and record each conductor's original cavity before removing any terminals.

Use the appropriate terminal-release tools and transfer only serviceable contacts to their original positions. Replace damaged contacts or conductors with the prescribed repair components. Do not force a terminal into a mismatched cavity or change the original pin assignment.

Engage the contact lock and mating latch fully, restore the original harness routing and complete the required lighting checks. Verify the affected lamp functions and inspect any remaining fault separately. This product is a housing, not a complete harness repair kit.
