OVERVIEW

Genuine VW/Audi Two-Pin Electrical Connector Housing

6X0-973-722-G is a genuine black two-pin flat-contact connector housing with a contact-locking mechanism. It holds the separately specified electrical terminals in their assigned positions and provides the original keyed connection to the mating component. The housing is used in multiple factory wiring arrangements, including the confirmed parking-brake motor connections listed below.

One individual connector housing is supplied per purchased unit. This is the housing shown in the original photograph. It is not a complete wiring harness, a wired repair pigtail or a parking-brake motor. Terminals, individual wire seals and repair wires must be selected separately for the original circuit and wire specification.

Technical details

  • OEM number: 6X0-973-722-G / 6X0973722G.
  • Contact positions: Two.
  • Housing color: Black.
  • Design: Flat-contact housing with contact-locking mechanism.
  • Quantity: One housing per purchased unit.

Two-pin housings can have different keying, latch arrangements and terminal requirements. A matching pin count is not enough to establish interchangeability. Compare the full original part number, mating face, locking arrangement and factory terminal assignment before ordering.

Common reasons to replace

Replace a housing when its latch is broken, the body is cracked, the contact-retaining features are damaged or the connector can no longer retain its terminals securely. Connector damage during earlier repairs can also require a new housing.

Intermittent operation, poor engagement or moisture at a connection calls for inspection of the housing, terminals, seals and wiring. Corroded contacts, loose terminal tension or a damaged wire require their own repair. Replacing the housing alone does not repair a failed parking-brake actuator or an electrical fault elsewhere in the circuit.

Fitment

The table identifies confirmed parking-brake motor connector applications. Use this housing only where the original wiring assignment specifies the full part number. Other connectors on the same vehicle can require different housings.

Vehicle Model years Engine Configuration Application restrictions
Audi RS7 Sportback 2021–2025 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid system C8 Sportback; Base / Performance where equipped; original parking-brake actuator wiring; quattro; 8-speed automatic Factory parking-brake motor connection assigned 6X0973722G only. Match the original 2-pin housing number, keying, mating connector and terminal specification. Housing only; terminals, seals and repair wires sold separately.
Audi RS6 Avant 2024–2026 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid system C8 Avant Performance; original parking-brake actuator wiring; quattro; 8-speed automatic Factory parking-brake motor connection assigned 6X0973722G only. Match the original 2-pin housing number, keying, mating connector and terminal specification. Housing only; terminals, seals and repair wires sold separately.
Audi S8 2021–2025 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid system D5 Sedan; original parking-brake actuator wiring; quattro; 8-speed automatic Factory parking-brake motor connection assigned 6X0973722G only. Match the original 2-pin housing number, keying, mating connector and terminal specification. Housing only; terminals, seals and repair wires sold separately.

Installation and electrical repair guidance

Follow the factory wiring repair procedure and place the vehicle and parking-brake system in the prescribed service condition before disconnecting or repairing the circuit. Record each terminal position before removing contacts from the old housing.

Use the correct terminal-release tools and inspect the contacts, wire insulation and individual seals. Fit the separately specified replacement terminals or repair wires where required. Preserve the original cavity assignment and polarity, and fully engage the housing's contact-locking mechanism.

Reconnect the housing without forcing mismatched keying or stretching the wiring. Restore the original harness routing and supports, then perform the prescribed system checks. Any required parking-brake service-mode exit, fault diagnosis or functional test must follow the vehicle-specific procedure.

This housing restores the mechanical support and locking of the correct connector assembly. The condition of its contacts, seals and connected component remains essential to a sound electrical repair.
