Genuine VW/Audi Rear Wiper Shaft Grommet
8D9-955-758-A is the genuine sealing grommet for the assigned rear-wiper shaft opening. It sits around the shaft at the rear glass or hatch attachment and seals the opening in the original wiper arrangement. Its molded profile must match the factory glass, shaft and opening assignment.
One individual grommet is supplied per purchased unit, as shown in the original archive photograph. Rear glass, the wiper motor, shaft, arm, nut, washer nozzle and surrounding trim are separate components.

Common reasons to replace
Replace the grommet if it is hardened, cracked, split, distorted or no longer seals against the opening. Removal of the rear-wiper arm, motor or glass can expose deterioration or damage the old seal, making replacement appropriate during the repair.
Moisture around the rear-wiper shaft requires inspection of the grommet and the surrounding assembly. Check the washer plumbing, motor shaft, glass and nearby seals as well. A leaking washer hose, damaged glass or defective wiper motor requires separate correction.

Installation and service guidance
Follow the factory rear-wiper service procedure. Protect the rear glass and remove the arm or motor attachments using the specified tools and sequence. Do not lever against the glass or force a seized arm from the shaft.
Inspect and clean the opening and shaft area without damaging the glass or sealing surfaces. Fit the correct grommet evenly so its molded sealing profile seats fully. Use only installation aids permitted by the applicable factory procedure.
Reassemble the shaft and rear-wiper components in their original arrangement, set the arm to the specified parked position and tighten the separately specified hardware to the correct values. Check wiper movement and washer operation, and inspect the repaired opening for leakage.
This seal restores the assigned shaft-opening seal. It does not replace the separate washer nozzle, line seals, wiper mechanism or rear glass.
