OVERVIEW

Genuine VW/Audi two-point fuel line retaining clip

8E0-201-190-S is the original two-point retaining clip used at assigned fuel-pipe and protective-profile mounting locations. It holds the specified routing attachment in place so the lines and protective components remain located along the original mounting arrangement.

This clip is an individual piece of mounting hardware. It does not replace a fuel hose, fuel filter or pressure regulator, and it does not seal a fuel connection. Choose the clip by its complete part number and the factory attachment point; nearby two-point and three-point retainers can have different profiles.

Technical details and supplied quantity

  • Manufacturer part number: 8E0-201-190-S; compact reference 8E0201190S.
  • Brand: Genuine VW/Audi.
  • Catalog configuration: two-point clip.
  • Application: original fuel-line or protective-profile retaining attachment where this number is specified.
  • Quantity: one clip per purchase. Lines, protective profiles, brackets and other retainers are separate.

The original shape and engagement must match the receiving bracket and routing arrangement. A matching number is more reliable than choosing a retainer solely by the number of openings. This clip is not a general-purpose hose clamp and should not be used to compress or seal a fuel hose.

Common reasons to replace

  • The original clip is missing after fuel-line access or related service.
  • Retaining sections are bent, broken or no longer engage the original attachment securely.
  • The clip has been distorted during removal and cannot restore the original routing.
  • Incorrect substitute hardware has been fitted at the assigned two-point mounting location.

Check the bracket, protective profile and lines as part of the repair. A replacement clip will not correct a damaged line, a distorted bracket or an incorrectly routed hose. Any rubbing, leakage or damaged protective covering requires separate attention.

Installation and service guidance

Follow the factory procedure for access to the fuel-line mounting area. If fuel connections must be disturbed, use the prescribed depressurization and fuel-system service procedure before releasing them.

Support the lines and protective profile while removing the old retainer. Inspect the receiving bracket and engagement areas, and restore the original routing without stretching, pinching or bending the lines. Install the correct clip in its prescribed orientation and verify that its retaining features engage fully.

Check clearance from adjacent components and ensure that all original routing retainers are in place. Complete the prescribed fuel-system checks if a connection was opened during service. The clip itself provides routing retention rather than a fluid seal.
