OVERVIEW

Genuine VW/Audi Lower Brake Vacuum Pump Mounting Insulator

8E0-614-177-A is the genuine lower insulator used at assigned electric brake vacuum-pump mounting points. Its molded seating profile cushions the original pump attachment and supports the specified bracket arrangement. It is a mechanical mounting component of the brake vacuum-pump assembly.

One individual lower mounting insulator is supplied per purchased unit, as shown in the original archive photograph. The electric pump, bracket, retainer and separate upper insulator are sold separately. The factory upper component, 8E0-614-177-B, has its own mounting profile and position.

Technical details

  • OEM number: 8E0-614-177-A / 8E0614177A.
  • Position in the confirmed applications: Lower electric brake vacuum-pump mounting insulator.
  • Design: Molded resilient seating profile with central attachment opening.
  • Function: Cushions and supports the original pump-to-bracket attachment.
  • Quantity: One individual insulator per purchased unit.

The factory mounting arrangement uses separately assigned upper and lower insulating components. Match the full number and installed position rather than assuming both components are interchangeable. Other brake-system brackets can require different mounting hardware.

Common reasons to replace

Replace the insulator if it is split, hardened, distorted, compressed or missing, or if it no longer supports the intended mounting arrangement. Damage during pump removal or deterioration of an old mount can make replacement appropriate when the assembly is serviced.

A deteriorated mount can contribute to unwanted movement or noise at the pump attachment. Inspect the upper insulator, retainer, bracket and pump mounting features before installing a new lower part. Damage to the bracket or pump attachment requires its own correction.

Brake-assist concerns require inspection of the pump, electrical control and vacuum circuit using the applicable diagnostic procedure. A mounting-insulator replacement does not correct a failed pump, a leaking vacuum line or an unrelated brake-system fault.

Fitment

The table identifies confirmed original lower electric brake vacuum-pump mounting applications. Match the installed bracket, mounting position and complete part assignment before ordering.

Installation and service guidance

Follow the factory brake vacuum-pump removal and installation procedure. Support the pump and protect the adjacent wiring and vacuum lines while its mounting attachment is released.

Inspect the bracket and mounting surfaces, then fit the correct lower insulator in its prescribed orientation. Restore the separately specified upper insulator and retaining hardware where required. Do not use a mismatched insulator to compensate for a distorted bracket or an incorrect pump attachment.

Reassemble the mounting arrangement in the factory sequence and to the specified values. Restore the original wiring and hose routing, then verify attachment security and complete the prescribed pump and brake-assist checks. Investigate any remaining noise, movement or vacuum-system fault separately.

This listing supplies one lower insulator. Any additional mounting components required for the repair must be ordered separately.
