OVERVIEW

Genuine VW/Audi two-point brake line holder

8K0-611-797-G is an original retainer for the assigned brake-pipe mounting locations. Its two pipe channels keep the corresponding hard lines supported and separated at the prescribed attachment point, helping maintain the factory routing and clearance.

This compact holder is a service component for a specific pipe-retention point. It does not join the hydraulic lines or seal brake fluid. One holder is supplied per purchase; the pipes, hoses, mounting supports and any separately specified hardware are not included.

Technical details and supplied quantity

  • Manufacturer part number: 8K0-611-797-G; compact reference 8K0611797G.
  • Brand: Genuine VW/Audi.
  • Component: two-point brake-pipe retainer.
  • Confirmed earlier references replaced by this revision: 1J0611797, 8K0611797 and 8K0611797D.
  • Quantity: one individual holder.

The number of pipe channels and the mounting shape must match the original installation. Other holders in the same brake system may retain one, three or four lines and are separate parts. A matching vehicle family does not make every line clip interchangeable.

Common reasons to replace

  • A retaining channel has cracked or no longer grips the assigned pipe securely.
  • The holder is missing following brake-line or underbody service.
  • The mounting feature is damaged and the original routing cannot be restored.
  • The retainer has been damaged during removal of a pipe or adjacent component.

Inspect the supported lines for wear, corrosion and damage whenever a holder is missing or loose. Restoring retention helps prevent movement and contact with surrounding parts, but a new holder will not repair a leaking or corroded pipe. Damaged hydraulic components require their own prescribed repair.

Vehicle fitment

Fitment is limited to the assigned two-point pipe-retention location. Confirm the body, drive configuration and original mounting point; the same model may use several different line holders.

Installation and service guidance

Follow the factory procedure for the specific brake-line attachment. Support the pipes during service and avoid pulling, twisting or bending them to force them into an incorrectly positioned holder. Inspect the receiving mounting point before installing the replacement.

Seat each pipe in its prescribed channel and restore the original clearances, adjacent supports and protective components. Verify that the holder is secured and the lines cannot rub against surrounding body or drivetrain parts.

If any hydraulic connection is opened or a line is replaced, complete the required brake-fluid service, bleeding and leak checks using the factory procedure. Changing an external retainer does not replace those checks when hydraulic work is performed.
