Genuine VW/Audi four-pin ignition coil connector housing
8K0-971-994 is the original four-position contact housing used at the assigned gasoline ignition-coil wiring connection. Its molded shape, terminal cavities and locking features locate the existing wiring contacts and secure the plug to the matching coil connection.
This is a bare replacement housing for repairing a damaged connector body while retaining serviceable wiring and the correct contacts. It is sold individually. It is not an ignition coil or a wired repair pigtail; loose terminals, repair wires and any separately specified seals are not included.

Four terminal positions alone do not establish interchange. Similar coil plugs can use different keys, contact systems or locking arrangements. Compare the full original part number and mating connection before transferring the contacts. Housing replacement does not change the circuit pinout.
Common reasons to replace
- The locking tab has broken during coil removal or previous servicing.
- The molded body is cracked or distorted and no longer holds the connection securely.
- A terminal cavity or retaining feature has been damaged.
- The correct housing is missing during a harness repair.
A loose or damaged connection can interrupt the coil circuit, but a misfire or electrical fault requires diagnosis. Inspect terminal tension, wire condition and the mating coil connection. Replacing the plastic housing will not repair a broken conductor, damaged contact or failed ignition coil.

Installation and service guidance
Follow the factory electrical-service procedure for the vehicle and isolate the circuit as directed. Record the original terminal positions before releasing the contacts. Use the correct contact-release tool rather than pulling the wires or forcing the locking features.
Transfer only serviceable contacts into the matching cavities and confirm that each terminal engages its retaining feature. Replace damaged terminals or repair wires with the correct separately specified components. Restore the secondary lock and verify that the connector engages the coil securely without strain on the harness.
Complete the specified electrical and operational checks after repair. Keep the harness routed and supported as originally designed, and diagnose any remaining misfire or coil-circuit fault separately.
