OVERVIEW

Genuine VW/Audi Lower Front Subframe Bushing

8N0-199-282-D is the genuine lower bonded rubber bushing used in the original two-piece mounting arrangement at the rear mounting points of the front subframe. The rubber and metal elements locate the matched subframe mounting interface while helping isolate movement and vibration between the subframe and body.

This listing supplies one individual lower bushing. The corresponding upper bushing, mounting bolts and subframe are separate. This D-revision lower component is not a complete upper-and-lower bushing set.

Technical details

  • OEM number: 8N0-199-282-D / 8N0199282D.
  • Position: Lower member of the original two-piece front subframe mounting bushing arrangement.
  • Construction: Bonded rubber bushing with metal mounting elements.
  • Corresponding upper component: 8N0199282C, supplied separately.
  • Quantity: One lower bushing per purchased unit.
  • Application control: Original subframe, body/drivetrain configuration and exact factory part assignment.

The upper and lower components have different functions within the mounting arrangement and must be fitted in their assigned positions. A one-piece bushing or an aftermarket mounting kit may use a different design. Confirm that the installed subframe still uses the original two-piece arrangement before ordering this individual lower component.

Common reasons to replace

Replacement may be needed when the rubber is torn, cracked, separated from its bonded mounting elements or has developed excessive movement. A worn subframe mounting interface can contribute to knocking, vibration or movement under changes in load. Damage may also be identified during subframe removal or other front suspension service.

Inspect the corresponding upper bushing, mounting hardware and subframe attachment at the same time. A damaged mounting hole, loose fastener, worn control arm bushing or another suspension joint requires its own repair. A new lower bushing alone cannot correct damage elsewhere in the assembly.

Fitment

The table identifies confirmed configurations using this lower bushing in the original front subframe arrangement. Match the actual subframe and factory part assignment, especially where prior repairs or aftermarket mounts have changed the installation.

Installation and service guidance

Follow the factory procedure for subframe access and support. The subframe carries related suspension and drivetrain attachments, so maintain the required support before loosening its mounting hardware. Record its original position and follow the instructions for retaining or restoring alignment.

Inspect the mounting surfaces and both members of the bushing arrangement. Install the correct upper and lower components in their assigned orientation and renew any mounting bolts required by the repair procedure. Use the specified tools and tightening sequence; do not substitute a universal torque value.

After assembly, complete the required checks for mounting security, clearances and any disturbed suspension or steering attachments. Check wheel alignment where the factory procedure requires it. This bushing restores the assigned mounting and isolation function; it does not replace another worn suspension joint or provide a solid-mount conversion.
