Genuine VW/Audi sun visor retaining clip in silver, part number 8W0-857-562-A-1YE. This holder retains the visor's inboard rod at the headliner when the visor is in its normal position. It allows the rod to be released when the visor is moved toward the side window, then held again when returned to the front position.

Common reasons to replace
Cracked holder plastic, damaged mounting features or a worn retaining element can prevent the visor rod from staying securely located. A holder that has broken during visor removal or interior trim service also needs replacement. Inspect the mounting area to establish why the original holder failed before fitting the new part.
A visor that shakes or releases too easily can have a damaged holder, but also check its rod, pivot and headliner attachment. This retaining clip does not repair a loose outboard visor pivot, damaged roof mounting point or internal visor mechanism. A missing decorative cover is a separate issue and may require only the matching cover cap.
Installation and service notes
