OVERVIEW
Genuine VW/Audi knock sensor bolt, part number N-010-244-26. This hex-head fastener secures the knock sensor to its assigned engine mounting surface. Correct clamping and surface contact allow the sensor to monitor engine vibration for the engine-management system.
Technical details
- Original part number: N-010-244-26 / N01024426.
- Hex-head threaded bolt; nominal hardware size M8 x 30 mm.
- Supplied individually. Knock sensor, wiring and related components are separate.
- Listed Jetta application is the 1.4L non-hybrid gasoline engine.
- Match the original factory part assignment, thread and required bearing arrangement. Bolt size alone does not confirm fitment.
Common reasons to replace
Replace a missing bolt, damaged threads, rounded hex head or corrosion that prevents the sensor from being secured correctly. Sensor removal or engine repair can expose damaged mounting hardware that should be addressed before reassembly.
A knock-sensor fault requires diagnosis of the sensor, connector, wiring, mounting surface and hardware. A new bolt will not correct an electrical failure or an unrelated engine combustion problem. Improper mounting can affect the sensor's vibration coupling even when the sensor itself is intact.
Installation and service notes
Inspect the sensor seating surface and threaded mounting hole. Seat the correct sensor squarely, start the bolt by hand and tighten to the factory knock-sensor specification for the exact engine. The specified clamping load matters; do not guess torque from bolt diameter.
Route the wiring as intended and prevent strain or pinching at the connector. Follow the factory diagnostic procedure and verify operation after the repair. Check any required bolt-renewal instruction for the particular service procedure.
Fitment
| Vehicle | Model years | Engine | Application restrictions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Volkswagen Jetta | 2016–2018 | 1.4L turbo gasoline, non-hybrid | 1.4L without hybrid only. Not the 1.8L or 2.0L engine application. |
Confirm the engine and original knock-sensor mounting hardware before ordering.
