OVERVIEW

Genuine VW/Audi M8 Wiper Arm Nut

N-011-151-3 is the genuine M8 hexagonal nut used at assigned wiper arm fastening points. It helps secure the arm to its spindle in the original wiper assembly. Correct fastening keeps the arm located at its intended parked position and supports the movement transmitted by the wiper mechanism.

This listing includes one individual nut. The wiper arm, blade, spindle, protective cap and any separate washer are supplied separately. Match the complete original part number and the specific arm attachment before ordering.

Technical details

  • OEM number: N-011-151-3 / N0111513.
  • Nominal thread size: M8.
  • Head design: External hexagonal nut as shown in the original archive photograph.
  • Confirmed application: Assigned wiper fastening points in the vehicle profiles below.
  • Quantity: One nut per purchased unit.
  • Assembly control: Original spindle, arm, washer arrangement and factory tightening procedure.

The M8 specification identifies the thread family; it does not make every M8 nut suitable for a wiper attachment. Match the OEM number, seating arrangement and spindle condition. Front and rear wiper systems can use different hardware within the same vehicle, so verify the fastening point rather than ordering solely by model name.

Common reasons to replace

Replace a missing nut or one with damaged threads, rounded hex corners, corrosion or distortion. A replacement may be required after wiper arm removal for windshield, cowl or wiper mechanism service, particularly if original hardware has been lost or an incorrect substitute was previously fitted. Renew the nut when the applicable repair procedure requires it.

Check the spindle threads and the arm’s mating splines at the same time. A loose arm can damage the splined interface, and fitting a new nut alone cannot restore a stripped arm or spindle. Poor wiping can also result from worn blades, a bent arm, a seized linkage or a faulty motor; diagnose the complete system before replacing unrelated parts.

Fitment

The table covers confirmed model and engine families with their original wiper assemblies. This nut is used only at the factory positions assigned N0111513. Confirm front or rear attachment, fitted arm and spindle before ordering.

Installation and service guidance

Follow the factory procedure for the specific wiper assembly. Return the mechanism to its required parked position before aligning the arm. Protect the glass and surrounding trim while removing or installing the arm, and use the recommended removal method if it is tight on the spindle.

Inspect and clean the spindle and arm interface as directed by the repair procedure. Install any separately specified washer in the correct position, start the nut without cross-threading and tighten to the vehicle-specific specification. Do not compensate for damaged splines or threads by overtightening.

Refit the protective cap where provided, then check arm alignment, parked position and clearance through the specified operating sweep. Test the system using the factory service procedure and confirm that the arm remains secure. This nut does not replace a worn blade or repair faults in the linkage, motor, washer pump or wiring.
