OVERVIEW

Genuine sealing hardware for assigned engine connections

The N-013-830-7 Genuine VW/Audi sealing ring is used at the engine connections identified below. The Audi TT RS application is the assigned control-assembly seal washer in the turbocharger system. The listed Touareg, A8/S8 and Vanagon applications use this number at their specified original coolant-system connections.

These are different sealing locations sharing the same factory ring number. Match the vehicle, engine and exact joint in the table. This is not a universal drain-plug washer and does not replace every seal in either assembly.

Technical details

  • Complete factory number: N-013-830-7.
  • Nominal catalog size: 8 × 12 mm.
  • Type: sealing washer/ring as shown in the archive photograph.
  • Quantity supplied: one individual sealing ring.

The catalog size describes the component's nominal opening and outside diameter. It is not a shipping measurement. Match the exact part number and sealing joint; a conventional fastening washer or a similarly sized rubber O-ring does not necessarily provide the required sealing arrangement.

Common reasons to replace

  • The original sealing ring has been disturbed during service of the assigned connection.
  • The sealing faces are damaged, scored or visibly deformed.
  • The ring is missing or an incorrect substitute was installed previously.
  • Inspection of a leak at the assigned joint identifies damaged sealing hardware.

Inspect the plug or fastener, receiving threads and mating sealing surface before assembly. A new ring cannot repair a cracked component, damaged seat or stripped thread. Confirm the actual source of any leak before replacing parts, and follow the factory replacement requirements for sealing components disturbed during the repair.

Vehicle fitment

The table separates the TT RS control-assembly sealing location from the vehicle-specific coolant-system sealing points. Match the original components and complete factory number.

Installation guidance

Follow the factory procedure for the specific control-assembly or cooling-system connection. Allow the relevant components to cool and perform the prescribed pressure-release and access steps. Keep the original sealing arrangement identified during removal.

Clean and inspect the intended sealing surfaces using the prescribed service method. Install the specified ring in the correct original position and engage the associated plug or fastener carefully. Follow the factory tightening instruction for the exact joint rather than using extra torque to compensate for damaged sealing surfaces.

Restore the serviced system using its prescribed refill or assembly procedure, then perform the applicable operating and leak checks. Diagnose any remaining leak at its actual source.

Ordering information

Supplied as one genuine sealing ring. Plug, bolt, pipe, control assembly, fluids and a complete repair kit are not included. Confirm the quantity needed for the specific connection being serviced.
