OVERVIEW
Genuine collared attachment hardware
The N-014-340-1 Genuine VW/Audi bolt is a self-locking hex-head fastener with the original collared bearing arrangement. Verified connections include the listed Passat rear-window regulator mounting point and the assigned Audi 90 bumper hardware position.
These applications share a factory fastener number but use different mounting arrangements. Match the complete number and original connection. The collar and specified self-locking design are part of the intended fastener, not a reason to substitute any M6 bolt.
Technical details
- Complete factory number: N-014-340-1.
- Nominal factory specification: M6 × 10.
- Design: external hex head with collar; factory self-locking specification.
- Quantity supplied: one individual bolt.
The nominal specification describes the fastener itself rather than packaged shipping dimensions. Match the complete factory number, original attachment point and head seating arrangement. Similar-looking hardware elsewhere in the same assembly can differ in length, thread size or bearing surface.
Common reasons to replace
- A bolt is missing after component removal or previous service.
- The drive head is damaged or rounded.
- The threads have been crossed, stripped or otherwise damaged.
- The bolt is bent or its bearing surface no longer seats correctly.
- A previous repair used incorrect substitute hardware.
Inspect the regulator mounting point, panel attachment and receiving threads before assembly. A new bolt cannot repair a damaged bracket, cracked tab or stripped receiver. Diagnose loose mounting at the actual joint instead of compensating with additional tightening force.
Vehicle fitment
The table identifies the verified mounting connection for each vehicle, including the EuroVan brake-hose retainer. This is an individual small fastener, and the associated body components are not included.

Installation guidance
Follow the factory service procedure for the exact window or body attachment. Support the glass or body component as prescribed and retain the correct original fastener stack. Observe the replacement requirements for self-locking hardware.
Align the mating components before engaging the bolt, start the threads carefully and use the correct tool for the actual drive. Follow the factory tightening instruction and sequence for the exact connection. Do not transfer torque values between different applications that happen to use the same bolt number.
After assembly, check retention and alignment and carry out the required window or body-component checks. Restore all disturbed trim, covers and moisture barriers as prescribed.
Ordering information
Supplied as one genuine bolt. Regulator, motor, brackets, bumper, panels, washers and a complete hardware kit are not included. Confirm the quantity required for the repair.
