OVERVIEW
Genuine VW/Audi turbocharger oil line union seal
N-020-829-2 is the original sealing ring used at the assigned turbocharger oil-pipe union on the listed diesel applications. The ring works within the prescribed pipe and union arrangement to provide the required sealing interface at that connection.
Use the complete part number when servicing the original union. This ring is a separate component from the oil pipe, union nut and other turbocharger gaskets. Nearby banjo connections and oil-return flanges can use different seals, so this part should be selected for its specific factory location.
Technical details and supplied quantity
- Manufacturer part number: N-020-829-2; compact reference N0208292.
- Brand: Genuine VW/Audi.
- Component: turbocharger oil-line union sealing ring.
- Catalog descriptions include oil line seal, union nut seal and ring.
- Quantity: one ring per purchase. Oil pipes, fittings, union nuts and additional gaskets are separate.
The ring profile must match the original receiving connection and oil pipe. A seal that appears similar can differ in its mating shape and will not establish a correct repair. Check the pipe and union condition rather than relying on additional tightening to overcome damaged sealing surfaces.
Common reasons to replace
- The original ring is damaged or distorted during oil-line service.
- Oil seepage is traced to the assigned union after inspection.
- The original seal is missing when the pipe is removed or replaced.
- The factory service procedure requires renewal of the sealing component when the joint is opened.
Confirm the source of an oil leak before replacing the ring. Leakage can originate from a cracked pipe, a damaged fitting or another nearby connection. A new ring will not repair those faults or resolve a separate turbocharger lubrication problem.
Vehicle fitment
Fitment applies to the original diesel oil-pipe union assigned N0208292. Use the model, engine and body details below together with the vehicle parts catalog. Replacement pipes or altered turbocharger arrangements may require different fittings.

Installation and service guidance
Follow the factory turbocharger oil-line service procedure with the engine cool. Keep the work area clean and prevent dirt from entering an open oil line or fitting. Inspect the pipe end, nut and receiving connection before assembling the joint.
Fit the correct ring in its prescribed position and orientation. Align the oil pipe without imposing strain on it, start the union correctly and tighten using the factory procedure and specification for that connection. Do not add sealant unless the specific factory service procedure calls for it.
Restore the original pipe supports and routing. Complete any required lubrication-system preparation associated with the repair, then check the serviced connection for oil leakage according to the factory procedure. Recheck the surrounding connections if seepage remains.
