Genuine vent-window latch retaining pin
The N-022-042-1 Genuine VW/Audi spring pin retains the assigned small connection in the original vent-window latch assembly on the vehicles listed below. Its tubular spring-pin design fits the factory-specified receiving bore.
This part serves the opening vent-window hardware. It is not a general door-hinge pin, window-regulator axle or lock-striker fastener. Match the original assembly and complete factory number before ordering.

The factory nominal size identifies the pin itself rather than packaged shipping dimensions. Spring pins depend on the correct bore and retention fit; another pin of similar apparent length is not automatically interchangeable.

- The original pin has bent or become distorted.
- The spring pin no longer retains securely in its correct bore.
- Damage during removal prevents correct reinstallation.

Inspect the latch, receiving bore and surrounding window hardware before replacing the pin. A worn bore, cracked latch or damaged frame can require additional repair. A new pin cannot restore worn mating components or correct a vent window that is misaligned.

Installation guidance
Follow the factory vent-window hardware procedure. Support the latch and frame, protect the nearby glass and finish, and use the specified pin-removal and installation tools. Keep the receiving holes aligned and install the pin to the prescribed position without forcing the assembly.
Check that the pin is retained correctly, the latch pivots and closes normally, and the window seats against its seal. Do not use a larger pin to compensate for an enlarged or damaged bore.
