The N-043-809-2 Genuine VW/Audi transmission drain and fill plug seal fits the original fluid-plug sealing positions that specify this exact ring. It provides the sealing interface between the matching plug and housing. Renewing a removed or damaged seal during fluid service helps restore the intended joint, provided the plug, housing and sealing seat are also in serviceable condition.

Common reasons to replace
- Seal removed during service: replace the ring where the factory fluid-service procedure specifies a new seal.

- Damage during plug removal: a nicked or gouged ring should not be used to complete a serviced joint.

A leak may come from the plug seat, housing or another nearby component. Tightening the plug further or installing a new ring cannot repair a damaged sealing seat or stripped housing thread. Diagnose the actual source and correct any damaged components before reassembly.
