OVERVIEW
Genuine oil-pump drive assembly pin
The N-101-058-01 Genuine VW/Audi cylinder pin fits the assigned position in the original V6 oil-pump drive assembly listed below. Its solid cylindrical design and factory 6 × 30 specification match the intended receiving bore.
The original assembly also contains a separate 6 × 22 tension sleeve and several bolts. These parts have different functions and must not be substituted for one another. Match the complete pin number and original diagram position.
Technical details
- Complete factory number: N-101-058-01.
- Factory specification: 6 × 30.
- Design: solid cylindrical pin for the assigned oil-pump drive assembly location.
- Quantity supplied: one individual pin.
The nominal specification identifies the pin itself rather than packaged shipping dimensions. Correct bore fit and position matter to the assembly; a generic rod or roll pin with a similar apparent diameter is not an equivalent selection.
Common reasons to replace
- The original pin is missing during engine assembly.
- The pin has bent or been damaged during removal.
- The pin surface or ends are damaged and prevent correct seating.
- An incorrect substitute pin was installed previously.
- Inspection during oil-pump drive service identifies hardware requiring replacement.
Inspect the receiving bore, chain-drive components and tensioner before fitting the pin. A new pin cannot repair an enlarged bore, worn chain or damaged tensioner. Low oil pressure or engine noise requires diagnosis of the full lubrication and drive system.
Vehicle fitment
Match the specified original V6 oil-pump drive arrangement and assigned cylinder-pin position. The Passat B5.5 entries require PR T7F. Other engines and other pin locations require separate confirmation.
| Vehicle | Model years | Engine | Configuration | Application restrictions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Volkswagen Passat | 2002, 2005 | 2.8L 30-valve gasoline V6; PR T7F | B5.5 sedan or wagon; front-wheel drive or 4Motion; Original V6 oil-pump drive/tensioner assembly | PR T7F original oil-pump chain-drive assembly; assigned 6×30 cylinder pin. Not the neighboring 6×22 tension sleeve. Excludes 1.8T, TDI and W8. |
| Audi Cabriolet | 1998 | 2.8L naturally aspirated gasoline V6 | 8G convertible, FWD; 4-speed automatic | Original oil-pump chain-drive assembly position specifying 6 x 30 cylinder pin N-101-058-01. Not the separate 6 x 22 tension sleeve or 8 x 14 cylinder pin. |
| Audi A6 / A6 Avant | 1998 | 2.8L 30-valve gasoline V6, AHA | C5 sedan or wagon, quattro; from VIN 4B-W-000001; Original configuration | Assigned original V6 oil-pump drive-chain position requiring N-101-058-01. Confirm exact assembly; not a V8 oil-pump hardware fitment claim. |
| Volkswagen Passat | 2000 | 2.8L 30-valve gasoline V6 | B5 sedan or wagon, 4Motion; 5-speed automatic | Original V6 oil-pump chain-drive assembly position specifying N-101-058-01. Excludes 1.8T and different pin/sleeve positions. |
Installation guidance
Follow the factory engine lubrication-system service procedure. Protect open oil passages from contamination and preserve the original chain-drive component arrangement. Use the specified tools and installation method so the pin enters squarely without damaging its receiving bore.
Confirm the pin is fully seated to the prescribed position and that the associated drive components assemble without force. Complete all required oil-pump drive, timing, lubrication and post-service checks before returning the engine to operation.
Ordering information
Supplied as one genuine cylinder pin. Oil pump, chain, sprocket, tensioner, tension sleeve, seals and a complete repair kit are not included. Confirm the exact factory number and repair quantity.
