OVERVIEW
Original countersunk hardware for the door-striker joint
N-102-349-01 is a Genuine VW/Audi M8 x 22 oval-head countersunk bolt with an internal Torx drive. It is used at the specified original door-striker fastening points in the applications below.
The countersunk head seats in the matching mounting recess to maintain the intended striker attachment profile. A flat flange-head bolt or a different countersink shape should not be substituted simply because the thread diameter is similar.
Technical details
- Complete factory number: N-102-349-01.
- Factory specification: M8 x 22 mm oval-head countersunk bolt.
- Design: Internal Torx drive with a countersunk seating profile; match the original striker and complete factory number.
- Quantity supplied: one individual bolt; door striker, latch, threaded plate and other hardware are not included.
M8 x 22 identifies nominal thread diameter and fastener length. No unverified tightening torque, drive-bit size, thread pitch or shipping measurement is stated.
Common reasons to replace
- Rounded Torx recess that prevents secure tool engagement.
- Damaged threads, a distorted head or a damaged countersunk bearing surface.
- Missing hardware or an incorrect substitute found during latch or striker service.
Door closing problems can also result from latch wear, hinge sag, displaced striker alignment or a damaged threaded plate. Inspect these components before assuming that replacing the bolt will resolve the symptom.
Vehicle fitment
Match the original body generation and the stated VIN endpoint. The model-year overlap in 1999 does not make this Mk3 application valid for the newer Mk4 body.

Installation guidance
Record the striker position before loosening its hardware and support any loose backing plate as the factory procedure requires. Start the correct bolt by hand and seat it in the matching countersunk recess.
Tighten according to the repair specification for the exact door and striker assembly. Confirm latch engagement, door alignment and secure closure after service.
