OVERVIEW

Genuine FSI air-filter housing attachment hardware

The N-105-565-01 Genuine VW/Audi self-tapping screw secures the assigned air-filter housing connection in the original integrated housing/engine-cover assembly on the FSI applications listed below.

Correct housing and engine identification are essential. Similar model years can have a TSI engine with a different intake arrangement. This listing applies to the original FSI filter housing identified in the table, not every air-cleaner or engine-cover screw on these vehicles.

Technical details

  • Complete factory number: N-105-565-01.
  • Nominal factory specification: 5 × 30.
  • Design: self-tapping panel screw for the original filter-housing receiver.
  • Quantity supplied: one individual bolt.

The nominal specification describes the fastener itself rather than packaged shipping dimensions. Match the complete factory number, original attachment point and head seating arrangement. Similar-looking hardware elsewhere in the same assembly can differ in length, thread size or bearing surface.

Common reasons to replace

  • A bolt is missing after component removal or previous service.
  • The drive head is damaged or rounded.
  • The threads have been crossed, stripped or otherwise damaged.
  • The bolt is bent or its bearing surface no longer seats correctly.
  • A previous repair used incorrect substitute hardware.

Inspect the housing screw receiver, sealing surfaces and cover before fitting replacement hardware. A new screw cannot repair a cracked housing or stripped plastic receiving point. Intake noise, air leaks and engine faults require diagnosis of the full intake assembly.

Vehicle fitment

The table requires the original FSI engine-cover air-filter housing. TSI installations and aftermarket intake housings are not included in these rows.

Installation guidance

Follow the factory air-filter housing/engine-cover procedure. Keep the filter element and intake connections protected from dirt during service. Align the housing and filter correctly and follow the prescribed screw installation method for the original plastic receivers.

Align the mating components before engaging the bolt, start the threads carefully and use the correct tool for the actual drive. Follow the factory tightening instruction and sequence for the exact connection. Do not transfer torque values between different applications that happen to use the same bolt number.

Check that the housing closes evenly and retains the filter correctly, and restore the intake and sensor connections disturbed during service. Do not overtighten in a damaged receiving point.

Ordering information

Supplied as one genuine screw. Filter element, housing, engine cover, seals and a complete hardware kit are not included. Confirm the number of screws needed for the repair.
