OVERVIEW
Genuine VW/Audi dogbone mount bolt, part number N-106-535-03. This original M10 x 30 collared hex fastener secures the specified dogbone mount to the transmission on the configurations below. It is supplied individually for the assigned attachment position.
Technical details
- Original part number: N-106-535-03 / N10653503.
- Published nominal size: M10 x 30.
- External hex head with integral collar beneath the head; published wrench size is 16 mm (SW16).
- Specified application: dogbone mount to transmission.
- One bolt supplied. Engine mount, bracket, other mounting bolts and related components are separate.
The mount-to-transmission connection forms part of the assembly supporting and locating the engine. Correct hardware keeps the bracket seated at its specified mounting point. The bolt is one component of the mounting arrangement and does not replace the rubber isolation element in the mount.
Engine mount assemblies commonly use several fastener lengths and attachment points. Match this original number at the actual mount-to-transmission position. A bolt selected only because it appears to fit the thread can have the wrong length or tightening requirements.
Common reasons to replace
Replacement may be needed during dogbone mount or bracket service when the applicable factory procedure requires new hardware. Replace missing bolts, damaged threads, a rounded hex head, deformation or corrosion that compromises installation.
Previous repair work may leave an unsuitable substitute or damaged mounting fastener. Inspect the complete bracket connection and obtain the correct hardware before reassembly.
Excessive engine movement, vibration or knocking under load requires diagnosis of the mounts, brackets and related components. A new bolt does not restore a collapsed mount, cracked bracket or damaged threaded transmission hole. Repair the diagnosed defect and inspect the attachment surfaces before completing the connection.
Installation and service notes
Follow the factory procedure for the exact dogbone mount arrangement. Support the engine and vehicle using the prescribed equipment before releasing mount hardware. Removing a mount bolt without correct support can allow the powertrain to move.
Identify the assigned mount-to-transmission position and inspect the bracket mating faces and transmission threads. Position the engine and bracket correctly and start the bolt by hand in undamaged threads. Do not use the bolt to force a misaligned bracket into place.
Use the correct hex socket and follow the factory tightening sequence for the complete mounting assembly. Apply the specified torque and any additional angle for this exact bolt position, together with the prescribed thread preparation.
Do not transfer a torque value from another dogbone mount bolt, subframe attachment or other transmission fastener. The same nominal thread size does not establish the tightening procedure. Renew associated hardware wherever the factory instructions require it.
After assembly, confirm the mount is seated correctly, all required fasteners are installed and nearby components have the prescribed clearance. Complete the required operating checks after removing the engine support. This listing supplies one original bolt; select other mount fasteners separately for the repair.
