Correct thread-forming hardware for the original fastening point
N-107-480-01 is a Genuine VW/Audi 6 x 16 thread-forming bolt with an internal Torx drive and a low rounded flange head. It replaces the specified original fastener in the oil-pan applications listed below.
The flange provides the intended head contact area while the thread-forming design differs from a conventional machine screw. Correct length, thread profile and head geometry matter when servicing the original pan; a similar-looking bolt is not sufficient identification.

Common reasons to replace
- Rounded drive recess that prevents secure tool engagement during removal or installation.
- Damaged threads, a bent shank or an impaired head seating surface.
- Missing hardware or a previously installed substitute of the wrong length or thread form.
An oil leak alone does not establish that the bolt is faulty. Inspect the pan flange, receiving threads and sealing joint before selecting the repair. A new fastener cannot restore a stripped receiving hole.

Installation guidance
Support and position the serviced component before starting the fastener. Use the correctly sized Torx tool, keep it fully seated, and follow the factory tightening sequence and torque for the exact pan and engine.
Do not substitute a generic M6 machine screw, add thread-locking compound or reuse an unsuitable receiving thread without the repair procedure specifying it. Check the repaired joint and sealing area after service.
