OVERVIEW
Genuine VW/Audi clutch pressure plate bolt, part number N-903-086-07. This original M8 x 14 shouldered socket-head fastener retains the clutch pressure plate at its assigned mounting position in the original clutch arrangement below. It is supplied individually for clutch service or replacement of damaged mounting hardware.
Technical details
- Original number: N-903-086-07 / N90308607.
- Published nominal size: M8 x 14.
- Internal hex drive with a shouldered head arrangement.
- Specified application: original clutch pressure plate mounting hardware.
- One bolt supplied. Pressure plate, clutch disc, flywheel and other service hardware are separate.
The pressure plate mounting fasteners retain the cover assembly against the flywheel in its prescribed position. Correct hardware length and seating are necessary for the original mounting arrangement. This bolt is distinct from the larger fasteners that secure the flywheel to the crankshaft.
Match the original pressure plate and flywheel hardware before ordering. Replacement clutch kits and flywheel conversions can specify different fasteners, even on a vehicle with the same engine and transmission. This listing supplies one bolt rather than a complete pressure plate hardware set.
Common reasons to replace
Inspect these bolts when the clutch pressure plate is removed for clutch disc, flywheel or related service. Renew mounting hardware whenever the applicable factory or approved component procedure requires it.
Replace damaged threads, a rounded internal hex drive, deformation, missing bolts or corrosion affecting installation. Earlier clutch work can leave incorrect substitute hardware or fasteners damaged by a poorly seated tool.
Inspect the pressure plate seating and flywheel threads along with the bolts. A new fastener cannot repair stripped flywheel threads, a distorted pressure plate, a worn clutch disc or a damaged flywheel surface.
Clutch slip, judder, release problems or noise require diagnosis of the complete clutch and release system. Replacing a mounting bolt alone does not correct worn friction material, contamination, flywheel damage or a failed release component. Repair the confirmed fault before reassembly.
Installation and service notes
Follow the factory procedure for the original clutch arrangement and any instructions supplied with the approved replacement components. Confirm that the pressure plate, flywheel and prescribed bolt set are compatible before assembly.
Inspect the flywheel mounting threads and pressure plate contact surfaces. Position and align the clutch assembly as required, then start the correct bolts by hand without cross-threading. Keep friction surfaces free of contamination during the repair.
Use a correctly sized internal hex tool fully seated in the drive. Follow the specified staged tightening sequence so the cover is drawn down evenly. Apply the prescribed torque and any additional angle for the exact pressure plate attachment.
Do not transfer tightening requirements from flywheel-to-crankshaft bolts, a different pressure plate or another M8 fastener. Observe the specified thread preparation and replacement instructions. Do not use excessive force to compensate for an incompatible bolt or misaligned cover.
If the bolts do not seat normally, inspect hardware length, component compatibility and thread condition before continuing. Complete the required clutch release, transmission assembly and operating checks after the repair.
This listing supplies one original bolt. Obtain the full quantity and other required clutch hardware separately for the mounting arrangement being serviced.
