OVERVIEW
Factory combination bolt for the original accessory bracket
N-903-348-02 is a Genuine VW/Audi M10 x 65 internal-hex combination bolt. Confirmed applications include the specified A8 compressor-bracket attachment and a separate S4 Cabriolet alternator-bracket fastening point.
These accessory attachments depend on the correct bolt length and bearing arrangement as well as any factory centering sleeves. This is individual mounting hardware; it does not include a compressor, alternator, bracket, sleeve or seal.
Technical details
- Complete factory number: N-903-348-02.
- Factory specification: M10 x 65 mm, internal six-sided hex drive.
- Design: Cylindrical socket head with washer-style bearing arrangement and threaded shank.
- Quantity supplied: one individual bolt.
M10 x 65 identifies nominal fastening dimensions. No unverified drive-bit size, thread pitch, strength class, tightening torque or shipping measurements are assigned.
Common reasons to replace
- Rounded hex recess that prevents controlled tool engagement.
- Damaged threads, a bent shank or an impaired bearing surface.
- Missing hardware or an incorrectly sized substitute found during accessory service.
Inspect the bracket, centering sleeves, receiving threads and driven accessory before assembly. A new bolt alone does not correct a cracked bracket, damaged bore or faulty accessory bearing.
Vehicle fitment
Match the model, engine and particular bracket below. The compressor-bracket and alternator-bracket roles are different applications of the same factory bolt.
| Vehicle | Model years | Engine | Configuration | Application restrictions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Audi A8 | 1998–1999 | 4.2L V8 gasoline | D2 sedan, quattro; Automatic | Original A/C compressor-bracket fastening point requiring N-903-348-02, M10 x 65; retain the specified centering sleeves. Not a refrigerant-line sealing bolt. |
| Audi S4 Cabriolet | 2004 | 4.2L V8 gasoline, PR T79 | B6 convertible, quattro; Manual or automatic, as originally equipped | Original alternator-bracket hardware in the T79 engine branch; match exact bracket and centering-sleeve arrangement. Not the 3.0L A4 bolt. |
Installation guidance
Support the accessory before removing its hardware and preserve the specified sleeve and spacer arrangement. Seat the bracket correctly before starting the bolt by hand.
Use a fully seated hex tool and the tightening sequence specified for the exact bracket. Verify accessory alignment and belt clearance after service. Compressor-bracket work must not place strain on attached refrigerant lines.
