OVERVIEW
Genuine VW/Audi Spring Band Hose Clamp
N-909-865-01 is an original spring band clamp for assigned hose connections. Confirmed uses include fuel hose service locations, a specified Jetta purge-hose service configuration and selected coolant hose connections. The clamp must match the original hose, connection and OEM part reference; a vehicle model alone does not establish the correct clamp for every hose in the engine bay.
Technical details
- OEM reference: N-909-865-01 / N90986501.
- Catalog size: 14.5 x 12 mm.
- Design: Spring band clamp with operating tabs, as shown in the original product photograph.
- Function: Applies spring tension around the assigned hose connection. Correct size and position help the clamp retain the hose at the intended connection.
- Supply: One individual clamp. Hoses, pipes, seals and pumps are separate parts.
Common reasons to replace
Replace a missing clamp or one with broken tabs, deformation, corrosion or impaired spring action. Renew clamps when the applicable hose repair procedure calls for new hardware. Inspect the hose and pipe nipple at the same time: splitting, swelling, hardened rubber or damage at the connection can compromise retention and sealing even with a new clamp. Fluid residue around a connection requires assessment of the entire joint rather than assuming the clamp is the only cause.
Installation and service notes
Use the proper spring-clamp pliers, confirm the assigned hose connection and position the clamp according to the original markings and repair procedure. Avoid overstretching or distorting the band. Keep the clamp square to the hose and verify that the hose is seated on its fitting. Follow the manufacturer's pressure relief and handling procedure for fuel or coolant work. This part is ordinary fastening hardware; it contains no fuel, coolant or pressurized gas.
Vehicle fitment
The table preserves the specific hose locations and configurations confirmed in public catalogs and manufacturer service documents. A service procedure establishes a supported part application and does not mean every vehicle within its model years has an open campaign. Where the manufacturer document does not identify engine displacement, match the original VIN-qualified hose configuration rather than assuming universal engine fitment.
