OVERVIEW
Two thread sizes for the original bevel-box mounting connection
N-910-027-02 is the Genuine VW/Audi double collared stud used at designated bevel-box and differential carrier connections. Its two threaded ends serve different sides of the original mounting arrangement.
The central hexagon and collars provide the original installation and bearing geometry. The stud must match the exact gearbox and mounting position; an ordinary single-size bolt cannot reproduce this connection.
Technical details
- Complete factory number: N-910-027-02.
- Factory specification: M10 x 45 / M8 x 16.
- Design: double-ended threaded stud with central hexagon and collared bearing arrangement.
- Quantity supplied: one individual stud.
The factory designation identifies an M10 end with a 45 mm dimension and an M8 end with a 16 mm dimension. These are functional stud specifications. The neighboring nuts, washers and carrier bolts are separate parts.
Common reasons to replace
- Threads are stripped, crossed or damaged during removal.
- The central hexagon is rounded and cannot accept the correct tool securely.
- The stud is bent or its collars no longer seat correctly.
- Corrosion or damaged threads prevent controlled tightening.
- A prior repair installed incorrect hardware or left the original stud missing.
Inspect both mating threads, the carrier and the bearing surfaces. A new stud cannot repair a cracked bracket or stripped receiver. Identify the cause of movement or loosening before reassembly.
Vehicle fitment
Match the engine, transmission PR code and exact stud position listed below. Other transmissions can use different mounting hardware.
| Vehicle | Model years | Engine | Configuration | Application restrictions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Audi A3 | 2008 | 3.2L VR6 gasoline | 8P Sportback; quattro; 6-speed S tronic; PR G0R | Assigned bevel-box/differential and carrier mounting positions only; M10 x 45 / M8 x 16. |
| Audi TT | 2004 | 3.2L VR6 gasoline | 8N Coupe or Roadster; quattro; 6-speed DSG; PR G0R | Assigned differential/bevel-box mounting stud positions only. |
Installation guidance
Support the drivetrain as specified for the repair and use the factory procedure for the exact mounting position. Start the correct threaded end by hand, seat the collars correctly and tighten the stud and mating hardware to their individual specifications.
Check engagement, clearance and carrier seating before removing support. Replace associated single-use fasteners wherever the vehicle-specific procedure requires it.
Ordering information
Sold individually as one genuine stud. Carrier, bevel box, nut and washers are separate. Confirm VIN, transmission code and required quantity before ordering.
