OVERVIEW
Genuine blind rivet for assigned tray and shield attachments
The N-910-177-01 Genuine VW/Audi blind rivet secures assigned fixed connections in the original EuroVan battery-mounting assembly and the Audi fuel-tank shield applications listed below.
This is small, dry mounting hardware supplied separately from the battery, tray and shield components. Match the original rivet location and complete factory number; it does not replace the threaded bolt or nut that clamps the battery.
Technical details
- Complete factory number: N-910-177-01.
- Factory specification: 4.8 × 7.
- Design: blind rivet with setting mandrel for the original tray/mounting attachment.
- Quantity supplied: one individual rivet.
The nominal factory specification identifies the rivet itself rather than packaged shipping dimensions. An earlier rivet number appears separately in the catalog with its own size notation; use the specified N-910-177-01 attachment and original receiving arrangement.
Common reasons to replace
- The original rivet has been removed during tray or shield service.
- The rivet is loose or damaged.
- The original attachment is missing.
- The rivet body or setting mandrel is damaged before installation.
- A previous repair used an unsuitable substitute fastener.
Inspect the mounting tray or shield, supporting bracket and receiving holes before installing hardware. A new rivet cannot repair a corroded tray, enlarged hole or weakened mounting point. Restore damaged supporting components according to the factory repair procedure.
Vehicle fitment
The table separates the EuroVan battery-tray attachment from Audi fuel-tank shield applications. Match the original mounting point, shield or tray and hole arrangement. A4 rows require quattro; a front-wheel-drive A4 does not inherit that assignment.
| Vehicle | Model years | Engine | Configuration | Application restrictions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Volkswagen EuroVan | 1993 | 2.5L gasoline inline-five | T4 van; front-wheel drive; Original battery mounting/tray arrangement | Assigned 4.8×7 N91017701 blind rivet in original battery-mounting assembly. Not the separate battery clamping bolt or nut. |
| Audi A4 | 2017–2020 | 2.0L TFSI turbocharged gasoline inline-four | B9 sedan; quattro | Assigned original fuel-tank shield blind rivet, dealer diagram position 19. Confirm the original shield and receiving holes; this is dry mounting hardware, not a fuel-line seal or fuel-tank closure. The A4 application requires quattro. |
| Audi A4 | 2021 | 2.0L TFSI turbocharged gasoline inline-four with mild-hybrid system | B9 sedan; quattro | Assigned original fuel-tank shield blind rivet, dealer diagram position 19. Confirm the original shield and receiving holes; this is dry mounting hardware, not a fuel-line seal or fuel-tank closure. The A4 application requires quattro. |
| Audi S4 | 2018, 2020 | 3.0L turbocharged gasoline V6 | B9 sedan; quattro; eight-speed Tiptronic | Assigned original fuel-tank shield blind rivet, dealer diagram position 19. Confirm the original shield and receiving holes; this is dry mounting hardware, not a fuel-line seal or fuel-tank closure. The A4 application requires quattro. |
| Audi RS5 | 2021 | 2.9L twin-turbocharged gasoline V6 | F5 Coupe; quattro; eight-speed Tiptronic | Assigned original fuel-tank shield blind rivet, dealer diagram position 19. Confirm the original shield and receiving holes; this is dry mounting hardware, not a fuel-line seal or fuel-tank closure. The A4 application requires quattro. |

Installation guidance
Follow the factory procedure for the actual attachment. EuroVan battery-tray work requires the specified electrical preparation. Audi shield work requires protection of the nearby fuel tank, lines and wiring during rivet removal and setting. Support the original shield or tray, protect adjacent components and use the prescribed rivet tool and setting method.
Confirm that the formed rivet is secure and the tray or shield is properly supported with its original clearance. For battery work, restore the clamping hardware and electrical connections as prescribed. For shield work, restore access components and inspect nearby lines and wiring before returning the vehicle to service.
Ordering information
Supplied as one genuine blind rivet. Battery, tray, bracket, clamp, bolt, nut, rivet tool and a complete hardware kit are not included. Confirm the number of original attachment points being repaired.
