OVERVIEW
Genuine body-repair weld stud
The N-910-299-02 Genuine VW/Audi weld stud restores the assigned fixed attachment point in the original body-shell repair application listed below. It is a small, separate threaded attachment stud intended for the factory-specified welding process.
This part does not install like an ordinary bolt into an existing threaded hole. Correct positioning and attachment to the body are part of the repair. Match the complete factory number, original location and repair specification before ordering.
Technical details
- Complete factory number: N-910-299-02.
- Nominal factory specification: 6 × 25.
- Design: weld screw/stud with a fixed body attachment head and exposed threaded section.
- Quantity supplied: one individual stud.
The nominal specification identifies the stud itself rather than its packaged shipping size. Other studs in the same body-shell illustration have different dimensions and attachment methods. Do not substitute this part solely because its thread appears similar.
Common reasons to replace
- The original stud is missing following body-shell repair.
- The exposed threads are crossed, stripped or damaged.
- The stud is bent or has separated from its original attachment.
- The original mounting point is being restored after removal of damaged material.
- An earlier repair used hardware that does not match the factory attachment.
Inspect the surrounding sheet metal and original mounting position before repair. Replacing a stud will not correct distorted, weakened or corroded base material. The condition and geometry of the receiving area must meet the applicable body-repair requirements.

Installation guidance
Follow the factory body-repair procedure for positioning, surface preparation, welding equipment and attachment method. Protect adjacent wiring, trim, coatings and other components using the measures prescribed for the repair. Preserve the original attachment geometry so the retained component will align correctly.
After attachment, restore the corrosion protection and sealing specified for the repaired area. Confirm thread condition and stud alignment before fitting the retained component. Apply that component's specified fastening method; do not use extra tightening force to compensate for a damaged weld or misaligned stud.
Ordering information
Supplied as one genuine weld stud. Nut, retained bracket, body panel, welding equipment, coatings and a complete body-repair kit are not included. Confirm the number of original attachment points being repaired.
