OVERVIEW

Genuine VW/Audi air suspension upper sealing ring

N-910-956-01 is the original upper sealing ring used at the assigned air-spring and upper mounting/protective-sleeve interface. It provides the specified sealing profile within the factory suspension assembly and is serviced separately from the complete air spring.

Select this ring for the original air-suspension arrangement assigned this part number. Conventional coil-spring assemblies and other generations of air suspension use different components. The lower sealing ring and additional suspension hardware are separate parts.

Technical details and supplied quantity

  • Manufacturer part number: N-910-956-01; compact reference N91095601.
  • Brand: Genuine VW/Audi.
  • Component: upper air-suspension sealing ring.
  • Genuine supplier size designation: 96 × 4.
  • Quantity: one ring per purchase. Air spring, shock absorber, sleeve, lower seal and mounting hardware are separate.

The sealing profile must match the original groove and mating surfaces. This ring is not a substitute for a damaged air-spring bellows, fitting or sleeve. Check the complete suspension unit identity if a replacement strut or non-original air-spring assembly has previously been fitted.

Common reasons to replace

  • The original ring is cut, cracked or distorted during suspension service.
  • The upper seal is missing when the original air-spring arrangement is dismantled.
  • Inspection identifies damage at the assigned sealing interface.
  • The factory procedure specifies seal renewal when the assembly is opened.

Suspension pressure loss, abnormal ride height or compressor operation requires diagnosis of the complete system. A new ring will not repair a leaking bellows, defective valve, damaged air line or an electrical control fault. Replace this component when the assigned interface is confirmed as requiring service.

Vehicle fitment

The table applies only to vehicles retaining the original air-suspension assembly assigned N91095601. Air suspension is required. Confirm the original unit and upper sealing arrangement before ordering.

Installation and service guidance

Follow the factory air-suspension procedure, including prescribed system depressurization, vehicle support and control-system precautions before dismantling the assembly. Do not open or separate a pressurized air-spring unit.

Inspect the sealing groove and mating surfaces for damage and contamination. Install the correct ring in its specified position without twisting, cutting or stretching it beyond the factory procedure. Use only the lubricant and assembly method prescribed for that suspension unit.

Restore the sleeve, spring and retaining hardware in the required sequence. Repressurize and perform the specified leak, ride-height and system checks after reassembly. Any remaining pressure loss or control fault requires separate diagnosis.
