The support bracket provides a mounting connection beneath the turbocharger. This bolt retains the turbocharger at that connection. Its assigned length and head arrangement must match the mounting position so the components seat correctly.
Other turbo fasteners retain oil lines, coolant lines, shields or exhaust connections. They are not interchangeable solely because they are nearby or share a thread diameter. Select N91103701 for the bracket attachment shown in the factory parts arrangement.
Common reasons to replace
Inspect this fastener when removing the turbocharger or servicing its support bracket. Replace a missing bolt or one with stripped threads, a damaged internal drive, deformation or corrosion that prevents normal installation. Follow factory instructions where removed hardware must be renewed.
A rounded socket can make controlled tightening or later removal difficult. A bolt that no longer starts normally in undamaged mating threads should be checked for thread damage or incorrect selection. Do not force damaged hardware into the turbocharger mounting point.
A loose or damaged bracket connection requires inspection of the complete mounting arrangement. Check the bracket, attachment surfaces and mating threads along with the fastener. Replacing this bolt alone cannot repair a cracked bracket, stripped mounting threads, a damaged turbocharger or an unrelated exhaust leak.
Installation and service notes
Use the factory turbocharger and support-bracket procedure for the exact engine and turbocharger arrangement. Allow hot exhaust and turbo components to cool before beginning. Support the assembly as required during removal so its weight is not carried by attached lines or a partially secured connection.
Identify the lower bracket-to-turbo position before ordering. Compare the original part number, nominal length, head and washer arrangement with the required fastener. A different turbocharger or aftermarket bracket can prescribe a different mounting solution.
Inspect the bracket and mounting points before assembly. Position the turbocharger and bracket as directed, then start the bolt by hand in clean, undamaged mating threads. Do not tighten the fastener to pull a misaligned assembly into position or overcome resistance caused by another incorrectly seated component.
Engage the correct internal-hex tool fully in the socket. Follow the specified tightening sequence, thread preparation and renewal requirements for this attachment. A torque value from another M8 bolt is not a substitute for the engine-specific repair procedure.
After reassembly, complete the prescribed checks for the turbocharger installation, including any disturbed oil, coolant, intake or exhaust connections. Confirm the bracket is correctly seated and every mounting position has its assigned hardware before operating the vehicle.
