OVERVIEW
Genuine VW/Audi Drive Belt Tensioner Bolt
N-911-490-01 is the genuine M6×10 screw used to secure the accessory drive belt tensioner at its assigned bracket attachment. It uses an internal hex drive and the broad washer arrangement shown in the original photograph. The correct screw maintains the specified attachment between these components.
This listing supplies one individual screw. The tensioner, roller, bracket, belt and other mounting hardware are separate. Similar screws can have different lengths or seating arrangements; match the exact original number and attachment rather than replacing it with a generic bolt selected by diameter alone.
Technical details
- OEM number: N-911-490-01 / N91149001.
- Nominal size: M6×10.
- Drive: Internal hex.
- Head arrangement: Combination screw with the broad washer visible in the original photo.
- Quantity: One screw per purchased unit.
- Confirmed function: Assigned accessory belt tensioner/bracket attachment.
These confirmed applications use the specified TSI or TFSI accessory drive arrangement. An earlier FSI engine or a different engine family can use other brackets and hardware even when the vehicle has the same model name. Identify the actual engine and original attachment before ordering.
Common reasons to replace
Replacement is appropriate when the internal drive is rounded, the thread is damaged, the seating surface is damaged or the screw has been lost during tensioner service. Inspect the screw when renewing a tensioner or bracket, and follow the factory instructions on which hardware must be renewed for that repair.
Inspect the mating thread, bracket, tensioner and belt path as well. A loose or damaged attachment can require correction beyond a new screw. Belt squeal, pulley noise or irregular tensioner movement can have other causes; this fastener does not replace a worn roller, failed tensioner or damaged belt.
Fitment
Match the engine type and original accessory drive attachment shown below. The screw applies only where the factory catalog assigns N91149001.

Installation and service guidance
Follow the factory accessory belt and tensioner procedure. Keep the engine off and prevent it from starting while working around the belt drive. Release and control tensioner movement using the prescribed tool and method before disturbing its attachment.
Clean and inspect the mating thread and seating surfaces. Position the correct tensioner or bracket, start the replacement screw by hand and confirm that it engages normally. Do not force a damaged thread or substitute an unverified screw length, washer stack or tightening value.
Tighten according to the factory specification for this exact attachment. Refit and route the belt correctly, then check that it is seated on all pulleys and that the tensioner moves normally. Complete the required operational inspection after the repair.
This screw restores its assigned fastening point. It does not alter belt length, tensioner calibration or the accessory drive service requirements.
