OVERVIEW

Upgrade airflow and fueling for Stage 3+ power

The APR Stage 3+ PowerMax turbo system combines a Garrett PowerMax GT2563S turbocharger, multi-port injection, low-pressure fueling upgrades, sensors, and APR Stage 3+ ECU software for the specified Volkswagen GTI 2.0T applications.

Technical details

  • APR part number: T4100009.
  • Garrett PowerMax GT2563S turbocharger with GTI fit hardware.
  • APR multi-port injection system with four 980cc ethanol-compatible Bosch Motorsport injectors, fuel rail, distribution block, and harness.
  • Genuine VW MK8 Golf R low-pressure fuel pump and controller.
  • High-range intake-manifold and charge-pipe MAP sensors and APR Stage 3+ ECU software.

Calibration and supporting hardware

APR offers 350 WTQ and 400 WTQ calibrations for 91 AKI, 93 AKI, and E85. The 400 WTQ calibration requires the APR DQ381 TCU Upgrade. APR specifies intake system CI100053, or CI100052 with CI100053-B and CI100053-C, plus intercooler IC100019 for advertised results. E85 uses a dedicated file, not flex fuel. A high-flow catalyst is not included.

APR lists this product as Emissions Code 7: it is not legal for sale or use in California. APR states CARB testing for 50-state compliance is pending.

Installation and service guidance

APR recommends new spark plugs gapped to 0.022–0.024 in, an oil change, transmission service, and a boost-leak test before installation. APR specifies oil changes at intervals no longer than 3,000 miles; E85 vehicles used for frequent short trips may require intervals of 1,000 miles or less. Consult APR's installation instructions.
