OVERVIEW

Genuine VW/Audi brake pedal bearing pin

WHT-002-483 is the original bearing pin assigned to the listed brake-pedal pivot arrangements. It works with the matching pedal bushes and support to locate the pedal at its pivot and allow the prescribed movement.

The component is sold individually. Replacing the pin does not replace the pedal, bushings or pedal-support assembly. Other pins in the clutch and brake mechanisms use different dimensions and must be selected for their exact mounting location.

Technical details and supplied quantity

  • Manufacturer part number: WHT-002-483; compact reference WHT002483.
  • Brand: Genuine VW/Audi.
  • Component: brake-pedal bearing pin at the assigned pivot.
  • Factory size designation: 15H9 × 45.44.
  • Quantity: one individual pin. Pedal bushes and retaining or support components are separate.

The factory size designation identifies the required bearing interface. It should not be used to substitute a generic pin without confirming the receiving pedal and support. Earlier installations can specify a different pin, including the separate 20 × 44.21 arrangement shown in the TT production split.

Common reasons to replace

  • The assigned pin is missing during pedal-support repair or reassembly.
  • Inspection identifies wear or damage to the pin at the bearing interface.
  • The pin is damaged during removal and cannot be reinstalled correctly.
  • The prescribed repair calls for renewal of the bearing pin.

Pedal play, noise or restricted movement requires inspection of the complete pivot assembly. Worn bushes, a damaged support or a binding linkage can remain faulty after pin replacement. Check the corresponding parts and replace the separately specified components required by the repair.

Vehicle fitment

Confirm the original brake-pedal support and bearing-pin specification. The early VIN and production changes below distinguish this pin from other pivot components used in the same vehicle family.

Installation and service guidance

Follow the factory procedure for the vehicle-specific pedal cluster. Support the pedal and protect the associated linkage and switches while removing the prescribed retaining and pivot components.

Inspect the bearing bushes, pin receiving surfaces and support before reassembly. Install the correctly specified pin with the matching components, using only the lubrication and retention method required by that procedure. Do not force a mismatched pin into the support or enlarge the bearing interface to make it fit.

Complete the specified checks for smooth pedal movement, correct return and secure retention. Verify brake-switch and linkage operation as directed before returning the vehicle to service. Any remaining play or binding must be diagnosed at the affected component.
